I Found some Lost Treasure!

A Weight Belt.

On the 3rd of April, on my 4th dive of the day, and while looking for something to take a picture of, I found my first 'treasure'... a recently lost weight belt. It had no growth or algae on it. Looks like it was very recently lost. With weights, these things cost $25-$50... Since I found it at 60 feet, hopefully the person that lost it, did so topside...

I was determined to 'salvage' the belt, but I didn't realize how much MORE air it would take in my BC. I was seriously considering taking some of the weights out of the weight belt and leave them for the fish to ponder over... but after a maximum inflation of the BC I slowly moved off the ocean bottom. Once up, I was able to lose a bit of air, but the next half of the dive I had to struggle more than usual since I was holding the belt on one arm, camera in the other, and my breathing was restricted due to the tightness of the BC being overly full. The dive wore me out.... Now I know what it is like to carry around an extra 20 lbs... I'm going on a diet!

Not much of a treasure, but it was my first, and something I can put to use. Hopefully the next thing I find will be more valuable.... something like Atlantis.
